Visitors can explore the old federal prison buildings, learn more about the 1970's Indian occupation of the island and enjoy the beautiful gardens, tide pools, bird colonies, and views of the city and Bay during a tour of this popular San Francisco attraction.
Hours -Alcatraz Ferries depart every half hour, beginning at 9am daily except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
Prices -Entrance to Alcatraz is free however visitors must purchase a Ferry ticket. Ferry tickets range from $17-$60 each, depending on visitor age and tour type.
